AUSBILDUNG (Vocational Training)

Ausbildung is a form of vocational training or apprenticeship where students work and study at the same time. Thus, students may earn both practical and theoretical skills and knowledge at the same time. Ausbildung is a profession focussed educational training which leads you towards a particular job.
If you’re accepted into this program , you’ll be known as an Azubi or Ausbildender, and will then be placed in a German company in your particular field of interest as an apprentice. You will also attend training classes at a vocational training school. Therefore there will be a particular number of days set for you to work at your company and study at your school.
Azubis may receive an allowance of €700-1400 per month depending on their chosen professional field and number of working years completed.
Once a graduate completed the program, they will be awarded with a certification and are usually also offered full time employment in the profession that they were trained in.
